Can I replace 1600mhz RAM with 2400MHz?
Can I replace 1600mhz RAM with 2400MHz?
Guest. System specs? If you want to use the old memory with new memory it needs to be the same voltage, speed and cas latency. If you just want to replace DDR3 1600 with DDR3 2400 then as long as your motherboard and CPU support the 2400 you can do it.
Is 2400 MHz memory speed good?
Yeah it’s pretty good. I run 2133MHz 16GB with absolutely no problem with gaming and multitasking.
Is DDR3 2400 Good?
Only the most die-hard gamers should bother with DDR3-2400 (or above) – the extra voltage cancels out the very slight performance boost in our view.
Is 1600 RAM speed good?
A DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM operates at a 1600 MHz clock, and a 1600 MHz clock cycle takes only 0.625ns to perform, meaning it is very fast and can handle most tasks, including gaming. For most games, 1600mhz RAM is a good enough speed.
Is 2400 MHz bad?
Yes, 2400Mhz single or dual on a 2200G is bad, memory is shared with main system, so you should be looking at getting a minimum of 2x4GB kit DDR4-2933Mhz or better.
Can I replace 1333mHz ram with 1600mHz?
The compatibility of the ram depends more on your motherboard than your cpu. If your motherboard supports the 1600mHz, then it is likely that the g3258 will also. However, the cpu spec sheet says that it only supports up to 1333mHz, so if you use 1600mHz sticks it may downclock them to 1333mHz.
Can I use 1333 and 1600 ram together?
You can, both sticks will run at 1333MHz. As long as your motherboard supports more than 8gb of RAM, which most of them do.
How do you know if my ram is 1333 or 1600?
Clearly, you can see my ram is 1600 mhz from the name. BUT standard setting for all DDR3 sticks is 1333 which is JDEC standard. This is the default setting that most motherboards are set to as long as your Ram can atleast support 1333mhz. You’d need to overclock your bios to get 1600 mhz.
