How do I report WSIB?

How long does it take for WSIB to contact you?

Waiting times. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) might get back to you about your claim within 2 weeks. But if your injury or claim is complicated, the WSIB can take 12 weeks or more to decide about your claim.

How long do you have to report to WSIB?

You have six months from the date of injury or date of diagnosis to claim benefits by reporting your injury or illness to the WSIB. When in doubt, report. It’s always better to report your injury or illness to the WSIB, even if you don’t think you’re covered.

Who needs to be covered by WSIB?

WSIB coverage is mandatory for independent operators, sole proprietors, partners in a partnership and executive officers in a corporation who work in construction. Most will have to register with us (some exemptions apply).

Do I get full pay if injured at work?

There is no legal requirement for an employee to be paid full pay by their employer when sickness absence is due to a workplace accident in circumstances where there is normally no provision for full sick pay.
