What is the purpose of your study?
The research purpose is a statement of “why” the study is being conducted, or the goal of the study. The goal of a study might be to identify or describe a concept or to explain or predict a situation or solution to a situation that indicates the type of study to be conducted (Beckingham, 1974).
What is the main purpose of a research paper?
The goal of a research paper is not to inform the reader what others have to say about a topic, but to draw on what others have to say about a topic and engage the sources in order to thoughtfully offer a unique perspective on the issue at hand. This is accomplished through two major types of research papers.

How many papers are never cited?

A similar statistic had made the rounds in 2010 but that time it was about 60% of social and natural science articles that were said to be uncited.
Can you cite too much?
You can cite a reference multiple times. Therefore, the number of citations you have is typically larger than the number of references.
What is the most cited paper of all time?
