In 2006, a group of guys who love the sport of ice racing, wanted to see it happen up here in the northwoods of Wisconsin, and started this club. Our first season was the 2006 season. It started off with success and since then, there has been more and more interest.

Do you need wi to ride on Ice?

Just a friendly reminder, all ATV’s and motorcycles must have a valid WI registration when riding on the ice outside of designated race track area and on NON race days. Classes for all ages and riding abilities. We recently added a class for UTVs!

When is nwircracing.com race day registration?

We hope to plan yearly date-designated summer rides all over northern Wisconsin. Our club is just starting and definitely still growing, and we want to see more members. Race day registration is from 7:30am-9:30am, practice ends at 10:15 am, Driver’s meeting at 10:30 am and racing starting at 11:00am sharp.

What does ice racing look like on a motorcycle?

When nobody else is riding, some motorcyclists go ice racing. Ice racing looks like an oval dirt-track race, except it’s run on ice. Ice racers also compete on grand prix-style courses with left and right turns.

How many cars can you race in ice racing?

Ice Racing is one of safest and most economical forms of road racing available today. This season we will offer 9 classes of wheel to wheel action (weather permitting). There is room for almost any car or driver on our varied length road course circuits. Participation can vary from from 40-75 drivers per event.
