When your hair is damaged, whether from heat damage or chemical damage, this causes your hair to have a high porosity level which results in a lack of moisture retention. Consequently, when your hair is lacking moisture it causes the hair to constantly remain in a state of frizz.

Are locs supposed to be frizzy?

When starting your locs you will see a bit of frizz along the length of the loc. “Refrain from cutting the frizz from around the loc. Frizzing is a natural part of the loc process that happens during the ‘budding’ phase. As the loc matures and solidifies, this frizz should become a part of the loc.
